Send legal notices right from the website without creating an account.

Problem
Prospects could only send legal notices after signing up, creating a commitment barrier that delayed their ability to validate the product's core value. This friction caused early drop-offs and made signup the biggest blocker to conversion.
Solution
We introduced a pre-login feature on the landing page that mirrored the post-login legal notice experience. Prospects/ users could now enter their details and send a legal notice instantly all before creating an account. Once they completed this action, we automatically provisioned their account in the background, seamlessly converting them from prospect to user without friction.
Recordent is a fintech platform focused on improving transparency and trust in buyer-seller relationships by addressing the problem of delayed payments. The company offers comprehensive credit and collections management solutions for businesses, especially manufacturers, traders, and service providers with tools to manage credit risk, collections, recovery, and analytics.

Earlier, prospects could only access the legal notice feature after signing up and creating an account, a significant commitment barrier. This forced users to invest time in onboarding before validating whether the product solved their need. The friction delayed decision-making and caused early drop-offs, especially for first-time users exploring the platform independently.
From a business perspective, this approach limited conversions by keeping the core feature hidden behind a signup wall. As the user base expanded, the reliance on account creation as the primary entry point became a bottleneck preventing self-serve users from discovering and validating the platform independently.
We identified an opportunity to automate the initiation flow enabling users to send legal notices instantly from the landing page. The goal was to reduce barriers, improve engagement, and position Recordent as a self-serve, scalable credit management solution.
For this project, the core product's journey was to enable sending legal notices right from the website from prospects to their customers. As a user experience designer on the project, the goal was to reimagine this journey into a more intuitive, cohesive experience that respected users’ mental models while still meeting strict business and operational constraints.
This was a project undertaken under a strict confidentiality agreement. Specific details have been hidden, but I am happy to discuss the approach and learnings. Feel free to reach out.
